Our services

At Yateeth Dental we offer a wide range of dental services not simply because we can, but because we hope to meet all your dental requirements in one place. Just as no two patients are alike, even the same patient has needs that will change and develop over time. Our all-encompassing services allow us to be there for you at every stage of your dental journey with us.

Check Ups and Cleans

Cleaning your teeth well at home is an important part of a successful oral hygiene routine. Combining regular brushing and flossing along with a routine visit to the dental office every 6 months will keep your smile healthy and will protect your teeth from cavities and gum disease. Our dentist uses professional tools, such as the ultrasonic, to remove plaque, tartar, stains and bacteria build-up that accumulate over the six months period. Going to your dentist at twice a year will help ensure a beautiful healthy long lasting smile.

Dental Impants

If you have lost one or more permanent teeth to an injury or periodontal disease, there are several teeth replacement options that you can consider. In the past, the choices were more limited, you could either go with a denture or bridge. Thanks to vast improvements in dental technology and sciences, dental implants have emerged as one of the most advanced and innovative solutions for treating tooth loss. Dr Ya Ou is an expert in dental implants, having had more than 12 years of experiences, you can be sure you will be in good hands.

Orthodontics

Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that is concerned with the correction of misaligned teeth. Contrary to popular misconception, the teeth straightening procedure does not just cater to children but to all age groups. Although it is increasingly viewed as a rite of passage for children and teenagers, many adults opt for orthodontic treatment for both cosmetic and hygienic reasons.

You may wish to align your teeth so that it maintains a natural symmetry along your smile line. You may want to reduce the inherent health risks of having misaligned teeth. You could also be taking advantage of new teeth alignment systems that promise aesthetic – and discreet – methods of treatment. For whatever reasons, Yateeth Dental will give you the best treatment options that are designed to answer both your dental as well as lifestyle needs.

Endodontic Treatments

Endodontic treatment, commonly referred to as root canal therapy, is needed most when a major infection invades a tooth’s pulp chamber. If left untreated, infection will destroy the nerves and the tooth will eventually die off.

To save the tooth, our experienced dentists remove the infected pulp located within the inside centre of the tooth, which is made up of specialised dental cells, nerves and blood vessels. The tooth is then cleaned and sealed with a filling or crown to further protect against infection.

Fillings

White fillings, or composite resin fillings, are a great way for people to hide the fact that they ever had a cavity in the first place. Made from a combination of glass and plastic tooth-coloured materials, they are designed for aesthetic dental restorations while also serving to restore natural tooth function and maintain oral hygiene.

Child Dental Benefit Scheme

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) started in January 2014 and provides access to benefits for basic dental services for eligible children. The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is paid by Medicare.

The total benefit entitlement is capped at $1,000 per child over a two calendar year period. The CDBS is means tested. You can confirm your child’s eligibility and balance amount by calling Medicare on 132 011.

The CDBS provides individual benefits for a range of services including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work and cannot be paid for any services provided in a hospital.

At Yateeth Dental we bulk bill eligible children directly with Medicare so that there will be no out of pocket costs at your dentist visit.

Children’s Dentistry

It’s important to establish good oral hygiene from an early age. This will set your child up with a lifetime of beneficial dental habits, and prevent early childhood caries and lay the foundation for optimal health throughout life.

At Yateeth Dental, we encourage children as young as 1 year of age to be brought along to the dentist; even if they’re not ready for a dental assessment. This helps your little one to become familiar with our dental environment and establishes a positive relationship with our dental team.

We recommend you arrange your child’s first dental assessment when their first tooth erupts. A consultation gives our dentists the opportunity to evaluate gum health, tooth progress and detect potential problems early on.

Our dental team places a strong emphasis on preventative care and education. We will happily teach your child good oral practices and equip you with the necessary skills to clean and care for their teeth at home.

Crowns

A dental crown is a tooth-like cap that is placed over a repaired tooth to strengthen its structure while restoring its appearance and functions. The crown is used to cover the visible part of the tooth – that lies above the gum line – as a means to correct the tooth’s shape, colour, contour and size.

When constructed from the porcelain material, a dental crown is a stable and extremely strong restoration that can be custom designed and fabricated to your unique specifications. The porcelain restoration is also known for its natural aesthetics and tooth-like properties, due to its ability to mimic the colour, shade and translucency of natural tooth enamel.

Emergency Dental Care

When your mouth hurts, time seems to move at an excruciatingly slow pace. Things that you take for granted like eating, drinking and speaking – even breathing – may aggravate the pain you feel. Every minute that ticks by just intensifies your yearning for some kind of relief.

At Yateeth Dental, we totally empathise with the helpless feeling of someone going through a dental emergency. Simply put, if you are experiencing dental pain, you need to see an emergency dentist right now. And we would like to help.

Dental problems that manifest in pain – from mild to severe – need to be treated as soon as possible. The longer you wait to get it fixed, the more severe and extensive those problems become.

If you’ve had an emergency, please contact us immediately, on 03 9939 4859 or David 0420 967 092.
